Have a Holly Jolly Spring

No seriously, it snowed today.  For a full half hour, it snowed on April 28th, Wednesday it was 80, today, it snowed.  I used to think Charlotte had crazy weather.  I am not upset by that, it was kind of cool.  I am so psyched to take WINI Cooper on the Milwaukee Mile.

Enough Already!

I have a politics hangover, I am glad I did not pursue my original career path of being in politics, I would have gotten tired of myself.

Cubs Win, Cubs Win, Cubs Win

I went to my fourth Cubs game of this season, I have seen them beat the Astros, the Pirates twice, and now the Mets.  I have already come close to my total of victories observed from last year.  It might be my new Fukudome jersey, it might just be that Fukudome is here that we are winning.

**** NEW RULE ****

I have been discussing this with friends here for a bit, but I do not understand why people where "3rd party jerseys" to any game.  If I am at a Cubs v. Pirates game, do you think it is appropriate to wear a Brewers, Cardinals, or worse, a White Sox jersey to Wrigley?  It is the dumbest phenomenon.  I say go with a gray t-shirt, be Switzerland.  If I were to go to a Blackhawks game, I do not sport my Penguins jersery nor do I don a Steelers jersey at Soldier Field.  My ruling on this matter is this, if you want to wear a 3rd party jersey, save the money you spent on the ticket and drive to where your team is actually playing (home or away, I do not care) and show your support there.

On the same front, wearing a jersey from a different sport.  I saw two guys wearing Bears jerseys, same city, different teams and sports idiots!

College caps are acceptable, you never know if they ALWAYS wear that hat!

What is up with the Bradshaws?

Well, some events on the horizon..

Tuesday- Chicago Cubs game vs. New York Mets- I am 2-0 this season in the friendly confines of Wrigley Field. I would like to overcome last season's sub 500 season.

Sunday- Blue Line Historical Tour- The L tours are hosted by the Chicago Historical Society. We get to learn about the city's westward expansion.

Next Sunday- MINI's on the Mile - I get to drive three laps on the Milwaukee Mile race track. It will be quite cool to be on the same track that have host Andretti, Foyt, Earnhardt, and all of them folks. WINI is very excited for a little track warm up before AutoCross!!!

Forgetting Sara Marshall

Freaking great movie. I have already seen it twice.

Fashion Fiesta

small button
My gigantic closet of clothes displayed for the first time for Fashion Fiesta Week.
WINTER WEAR

The GAP's Modern Fit dress shirt.  I have over a dozen of these shirts, funny part is I have to wear a stupid uniform to work so I cannot wear them to work.  I love to rock these multi stripped shirts with jeans and a blazer.

These are my two blazers that I wear quite often.  To the left is my Banana Republic summer weight jacket.  To the right is a GAP moleskin blazer, a little warmer, and super comfy.  Also can look dressed up if I need it to.  The hat in the middle is a patchwork driving cap I bought at an Irish clothier up the street.

The Jeans I rock with the above blazers and shirts are the best 7 jeans I can find.  From L to R.  GAP Standard Fit, GAP Loose Straight Fit, Levi's 569, Levi's 527,
GAP Straight Fit, GAP Low-rise Boot Fit, GAP Straight Fit

These are the beloved shoes that are worn all winter, except snowy days.  Top left, Bostonians, Top Right, Keen, Bottom Left, Steve Madden, Bottom Right, Clarks

SUMMER TIME

Destination and Concert t-shirts.  I have this thing about only wearing shirts from places that actually exist.  I cannot stand to see generic shirts from Old Navy or GAP that have a fake store or town.  Why, there are perfectly good real places that are supported by t-shirts?  So these are some of my favorite authentic t's.
From left to right, top to bottom.  Barenaked Ladies "Are Men." Sister Hazel "Absolutely." Danny's Dogsledding and Red Dog Saloon from Alaska (Amanda went).  Fat Head Saloon, Pittsburgh.  Margaritaville, Key West.  Sloppy Joe's, Key West.  Primanti Brothers, Pittsburgh.  Quaker Steak and Lube, Pittsburgh.  Woody's Dive Shop, Hawaii (MJ went).

When not rocking my t's, I love my polo.  With jeans, with
shorts, with a blazer, it is so versatile.

In the summer I normally wear shorts, I thought a picture of 13 pairs (I counted) of khaki shorts would just be ridiculous, so I brought out these instead.  I am known to wear some seersucker pants.  Kicking it old school in brown (Banana,) green (Brooks Brothers,) and blue (Ralph Lauren).

My summer footwear includes a selection of Chuck's.  They are not all that comfy but I love the look.  I learned it from my cousin David, he used to wear the natural white high tops when he was in college.  Above right are my Teva's I got at Bar Harbor.  Sperry's are my every day summer shoe.  I love my Rainbow flops.
When rooting for my favorite team, I love my real deal jerseys.  I adore ebay, it allows you to get authentic jerseys really cheap.  From L to R, Troy Polamalu and Hines Ward from the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Mario Lemiuex from the Pittsburgh Penguins, Kosuke Fukudome of the Cubs.

Thanks for reading my Fashion Fiesta!

Twinkie has her house back

Twink is so excited to have her house back.  Mommy and Daddy are a little bummed to have the apartment empty.  It is so much fun to show people around your new city.  Jessica and Justin got to see the Frank Lloyd Wright House, the Field Museum, Science and Industry Museum, Hancock Tower, Shedd Aquarium, and shopping on the Magnificent Mile.  They both claimed the Cubs victory at Wrigley Field was the best part of their short and but action packed vacation.  Their recommendation to our family and friends was to come up here and hang out.  I have no idea where we will be next summer.

Air Bus

So there was going to be a flight coming in carrying our friends Justin and Jessica.  Much like ATA, Air Bus went bankrupt and they showed up to Greensboro today to find a note at the counter..... the Bush administration swears we are not in a recession.

Seriously, what is the deal with law enforcement and mustaches?

One should listen to "This American Life" on podcast, tune into the show "The Audacity of Government."  It really makes you feel like you are capable of running this country, because clearly, some aren't.

Amanda working at a OBGYN is an educational experience for me.  In Pregnancy Magazine, it was the Dad's issue, still inside is an article about this summer's sunglasses, I guess they have little faith in their ability to reach the target demographic.  It has reached me, I enjoyed most the story about a dad and his first weekend at home with the baby.

We are going to the Cubs game Sunday with Jessica and Justin, they are flying up to visit this Saturday.

I gotta go to work, bye!
